The ASSOCIATES

ImageAdriano Altissimo

Adriano graduated in 1975 at the University of Padova. He started working as an agricultural technician, and between 1976 and 1983 worked as a teacher in agricultural secondary schools. In the meantime, (1979-1983) he set up a farmers' cooperative together with friends and colleagues (management of urban parks and gardens and market gardening). Between 1983 and 1985, he worked by himself as a professional planner for parks, gardens, sporting facilities and rural areas. Agronomi Associati was created in 1986 with the first aim to run and supervise projects in these technical fields. In 1990, he pointed his scientific attention on turfs, first participating in research projects with the Faculty of Agricultural Studies of the University of Padova, and then also on his own, working for private companies. During these same years (1990-1995) he was a councilor responsible for the environment in the municipality of Vicenza. He taught in many qualifying courses on turf in urban areas for nursery gardeners, and students in university and masters. His research field has widened to include organic and then mineral fertilizers, and is now oriented towards low impact agriculture. He now works also outside Italy. He takes part in international meetings and study groups maintaining relationships with many research Institutes and Universities. He also likes having university students running training periods at Landlab.
This is the meaning Adriano that gives to his profession: sharing, researching, growing up with people of different ages and with different vocational trainings, with the only aim of working for stable, simple, efficient and low impact systems, paying particular attention to limited natural resources.
