Tersys and complex areas management Print

The management of public parks and gardens in an average dimension municipality could represent an important part of every year's economic balance. There could be many problems related to this topic, for instance the increasing amount of these kind of environmental areas, the trying to improve them and the growth of different types of buildings and furniture. All these features contribute to harden the management. The major difficulty is the one related to the outlay prediction and the time organization of works. In general, a low level of organization can become a risk in terms of use of human and financial resources, which could become unreasonable. On the contrary, this result can be avoided by a well-run organization, so that more and more qualified resources can be allocated to improve the service for the town and its inhabitants.

An Example:

Municipality of Arzignano (VI): since 2003, Landlab studio associato is following the urban parks' management, including maintenance interventions, both ordinary (mowings, prunings, clearing out, physiopathological conditions check, etc.) and extraordinary (security setting, balance control, etc.).

In 2006 Landlab begun the design of a new tool for the management of complex areas, such as historical parks, municipalities green areas: a territorial information system of urban parks (SIT) was be prepared, integrating the use of decision supporting instruments, such as GIS (Geographical Information System).
In 2007 this project lead to the realization of Tersys, a system based on webGis, aimed to a complete green areas management, integrating technical tools and agronomic knowledge. The first application on Tersys was set on the Municipality of Riva del Garda (Trento)
